establishments in the Colony.

It is hoped shortly to re-establish the firm of Government

Printers.

9. REQUISITIONING, BILL STING & LOS ISSMENT.

a. These sections work under the general supervision of quartering

Commandant and during the month staff has been considerably

augmented so that these Sections are now able to operate.

The requisitionin; Directive has been submitted for approval

by the Commander in chief.

b. At the beginning of the month there were about 110 properties

in ongkong and 240 in Kowloon to be assessed.

During the

past fortni ht there has been a daily average of 4 additional

properties requisitioned.

10. IK SELVICES.

C.

a. 3.0.1 Air services arrived in Hongkong on 15th.Oct. but so far

as is known no other staff for this Dept. has yet 14 U.K.

b. Kai Tek. All buildings for Civil Aviation were removed by the

Japanese during reconstruction of the air field and the field is

at present almost completely occupied by the ..F. and Royal

Navy.

The question of providing temporary premises for Civil Aviation

and motor transport for handling Civil passengers and freight are

under negotiation.

Ping shan Airfield. The question of civil requirements at the

new airfield is under discussion.
